It has always been a problem, how do you keep an eye on your vehicle while it is parked at the supermarket or anywhere for that matter and your not in it? Have you had someone vandalise your car while it is parked on the street? People who damage other peoples cars and don’t leave their details have committed a malicious act and they need to be exposed.
In a media release from one of Australia’s biggest vehicle insurers, 18% of drivers said they would think twice about leaving their details if they damaged a vehicle and no one saw them do it, based on personal experience I think the percentage would be much higher than that. Damage to cars while parked also accounted for 18% of all the insurers motor vehicle claims and the average damage bill was over $850.
That is bad enough but it is always the owner of the damaged vehicle who is out of pocket because many young drivers are on high excesses and often that excess costs more than the repair bill. It is a catch 22, if they get the damage repaired they could pay a large excess or they could repair it at their own cost. Either way, they are out of pocket and often without a car for a long period of time.
The main limitation with car cameras is that they need a constant power source to work and many early model vehicles do not have auxiliary power when the ignition is turned off. “Motion detection” is not always the answer either. It will automatically turn on when it detects motion but it may miss the incident if it occurs in the first few seconds while the camera starts up.
We have come up with a solution, our Portable and rechargeable PB 5500mAh Portable Power Packs will run a camera for approximately 10 hours of continuous recording before it needs re charging. What you capture is only limited by the storage capacity of the SD Card. Our Micro 16GB SanDisk Ultra class 10 cards will store 3 hours of videos which is more than enough for the average shopper.
We have combined the Power Bank with an EHD65 full Hi Definition Car Camera which comes with 4 windscreen mounts so that you can move it from car to car or use the extra mounts to position the camera to where you feel your car is exposed the most to damage. This unit is one of the best in car cameras on the market
Some people don’t look after their own vehicles so don’t expect them to look after yours but to give you a fighting chance we have come up with a package that will help. It won’t stop them from reversing into your car or running their trolley down the side of it but the Dash Camera & Power Bank Combo will help bring them to account for their actions.
The package we have come up with includes the following:
- 1 EHD65 Full Hi Definition Dash Camera (Value $189)
- 1 PB002 Power Bank 5500mAh – colour choices are Hot Pink, Black and White, (Value $39)
- 1 SanDisk 16GB Class 10 Micro SD card with Adaptor (value $24)
- 1 Triple Socket USB Cigarette Lighter Adaptor (value $14)
- 1 Delivery valued at $13 via Australia Post
This package is great value as you will save $40 (15%) off the retail price.
We recommend that when you park your car, unplug the lead to the camera and replace it with the USB cable that comes with the camera. Plug the other end into the Portable Power Pack and turn it on by holding down the on/off switch for 3 seconds. The camera will automatically start to record and will keep recording until the battery pack runs down 10 hours later. It will be interesting to see the results when you come back to your vehicle and there has been an incident.
