Car Dash Cameras Australia Terms & Conditions

Thank you for your order, please be assured that all our products are inspected for defects prior to despatch.

Please be aware that dash cams do not run off their internal battery. They need to be plugged into a power source such as a car cigarette lighter or portable power bank. When reviewing your footage you can plug the dash cam into your computer via USB which will also provide power to the unit.

Dash cams require a memory card to record and store your footage. We sell suitable memory cards here.

Motion detection will only work if you have permanent power. Some vehicles have permanent power cigarette lighter sockets. You can also use a portable power bank.

Note that in instances where our stocks of our regular memory cards are exhausted we may supply a different brand of memory card of equal or greater value.

24 hour dispatch applies to business days only. Normal orders are sent via Regular post via Australia Post. If you would like Registered Post please select it on the cart page prior to checkout. Postage costs will be displayed upon selecting the Registered Post option.

Instructions for most of our cameras are on this website under “Instructions” and in the package, please read the installation instructions prior to installing the dash cam. Please ensure that you use only the cables provided with the camera as other product cables can cause failure.

If you decide to have your dash cam hard wired in you should use a qualified auto electrician to perform the install. Dash cams are made to run off a maximum of 5 volts, which is the same voltage that runs through your cigarette lighter so it is important that the auto electrician is aware of this. We cannot be held responsible for issues that are caused by incorrect installation by professionals or non-professionals.

We offer a standard 12 month warranty on all dash cams in accordance with the Australian Consumer Guidelines (see our full terms and conditions on our website).

Under the Australian Consumer Law we as a retailer to consumers, automatically give certain guarantees.

Businesses that make goods, put them together or have their name on them also give certain guarantees. Importers give these same guarantees if the maker does not have an office in Australia.

If a consumer has a problem with goods purchased from us they are free to approach us to obtain a remedy.

If you find your dash cam to be defective within this time please contact us by email for instructions on the return process at [email protected] Please retain your receipt for proof of purchase.

  • You will require an RMA number from us (Returned Merchandise Authorisation)
  • Please email us on [email protected] before shipping the goods back to us as there may be a simple fix.
  • No returns will be accepted without a phone call or email confirmed by us.
  • Shipping Costs are non-refundable.

You are entitled to return the product if you believe there is a problem. Please call us and discuss before returning the product as we are often able to solve any issues over the phone.

You do not have to return products in the original packaging.

As per the ACCC guidelines, the customer is responsible for the return postage costs as the item is not large.

If the problem with the product is minor, the customer must accept a free repair if we offer it to you.

If the problem with the product is major then the customer is entitled to a replacement or refund.

A product or good has a major problem when:

  • it has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying it if they’d known about it
  • it is unsafe
  • it is significantly different from the sample or description
  • it doesn’t do what the business said it would, or what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed.

We are under no obligation to accept returns if the customer changes their mind and decides that they don’t like or need the good or discovers that the product is cheaper elsewhere.

All returned products must have an RMA (Returned Merchandise Authority) issued by CarDashCameras so if you think you need to return a product, please contact [email protected] first, without it we have no obligation to accept or pay for the return of your product.

We may accept returns as required but if they are not defective, acceptance will be at our discretion and an administration fee of up to $49.50 may be applied.

As per our warranty guidelines we will accept return of a faulty item to repair or for exchange,  however if on testing we find nothing wrong with the item (for example a wrong menu setting), the return postage cost is the responsibility of the customer.

The most common reason for a return is that the customer may have motion detection ON but we make it clear on this website that motion detection is not compatible with loop recording so please check this before contacting us in regard to a return.

At our discretion, we may choose to accept a cancellation request if the product is yet to be despatched. There will be a cancellation fee attached to any order cancellation.

International Shipping

We can ship internationally, however, charges will apply so please contact us for prices.

Note that dash cams should not be exposed to extreme weather conditions. The Australian Sun can get very hot, especially inside a vehicle so if you have any doubt, you should remove your dash cam when your car is parked in direct intense sunlight. Extreme heat could damage the camera.

Do not place a windscreen sun reflector behind your dash cam as this intensifies the heat between the reflector and the windscreen.

Car Dash Cameras Australia will not be responsible for any product that goes missing after delivery (such as a unit complex) so if you have any doubt that the package will reach you, please provide a post office box or use our registered mail option.

Note: Car Dash Cameras reserves the right, at its discretion, to change all or any part of these Terms and Conditions at any time. Such changes shall be effective immediately.
